01. Educated
​

Mrs. Heather B. Brown, MAT TESOL has a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in French Linguistics from the prestigious, Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia. Shortly after graduation, Mrs. Brown obtained her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate from the acclaimed TEFL Institute of Chicago. Upon her return from teaching English abroad in France, Heather received her Master's in Teaching for TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from one of the most renowned programs in the country.

After graduating from university, Heather moved to Toulon, France & Paris where she taught both private and group English classes to French scholars & professionals. Upon her return from France, she worked in several private ESL schools in the DMV as both an administrator and instructor where she built ever-lasting relationships with students from the following countries and more:

03. World Traveler

Heather has travelled to a variety of different countries on nearly every continent, learning and exploring what they all have to offer culturally, and historically. Her travels abroad have deepened her passion for English education as she works to provide her clients with both academic and professional access to the international job market. 

04. Reputation

Heather has served as lead ESL instructor to international students & professionals at Georgetown University, School of Continuing Studies, LADO International Institute, Inlingua Washington DC and Mentora College, all widely reputable private language centers in the DMV area. Heather is also a member of TESOL International and has presented at the internationally renowned TESOL Conference.

 

Heather is also the lead ESL coach at several government agencies & embassies working to improve the business language skills of international scientists, researchers, lawyers and business professionals from all over the world.

 

Heather's teaching style is unique, dynamic and very creative as she has mastered the ability to integrate virtually every language skill into every session. She can quickly and easily identify a client's area(s) of improvement and with an extensive background in curriculum design, can build out an entire plan to target those areas in a comprehensive way.
